Earthquake: Expiration of the Mandate of Heaven
We have analyzed the Chinese regime’s reaction to the disaster of Sichuan.
The artificial compassionate and open attitude of the Chinese Premier, who called himself "Grandpa Wen Jiabao," as well as the astute division of roles between himself and Hu Jintao, seem to be connected to the knowledge that natural disasters have always been signs of devastating political impact in China.
In China, natural disasters have often heralded the leader’s ruin and loss of power.
The cause-effect mechanism is as follows:
Decadence of the dynasty- natural disaster –revolt of the peasants – end of the dynasty
The end of the Eastern Han dynasty is often related to the flooding of the Yellow River (30-29 B.C.).
The successive reign of Wang Mang ended when the Yellow River changed its course in 11 A.D. The river changed course to flow south instead of north of the Shandong Peninsula. This caused flooding, famine and death, and led to a revolt of the peasants.
The end of the Sui dynasty was caused by the revolt which broke out after the disastrous flooding of the Yellow River 611 A.D.
The era of discontent that lead to the end of the Jin dynasty began, starting in 1194 AD, when the Yellow River changed its course several times, and led to an agricultural crisis in that area.
During the mid-14th century, the same river flooded again, causing rebellion as well as the end of the Yuan Mongol dynasty of Kublai Khan.
In the Late Ming period, between 1620 and 1640, a true climate change took place. Temperatures diminished, drought and floods came. The dynasty fell in 1644 due to peasant rebellions and the Manchu invasion, which produced the Qing dynasty, the last.
The Yellow River flooded once again in 1898. Another famine, together with the Boxer rebellion, brought an end to the Qing dynasty. In 1911 the Imperial era ended and the Republic of China was proclaimed.
And finally, a short time before the death of Mao Zedong in September 1976, the Tangshan earthquake took place in China, the most devastating in recorded history, causing 300,000 victims.
Of course there are many material reasons which relate administrative decadence, inept management of hydraulic works and infrastructures to natural disasters and therefore the revolts which take down dynasties.
But from the Chinese point of view, this means that the “Mandate of Heaven” which signifies that the supreme role of the emperor is that of regulator of the equilibrium between the heaven and the earth, between matters of human beings and nature, is no longer in vigor.
So it’s not surprising that the Chinese regime reacts to the Sichuan earthquake by desperately attempting to re-establish the "cosmic order."
Clearly a vain attempt, if we take into account that it is being made by criminals who seek to continue their enslavement of over 1 billion souls.
